From the outside, you wouldn't expect the inside to be set up so impressively, and we really loved the place. The elevator is the one drawback: it's tiny, barely enough for two people with two suitcases each, though you can squeeze things in. Its doors shut very quickly, so watch out.

All three beds had stained sheets, and the sheets and pillows smelled musty. It was disappointing that they couldn't offer us anything or help at all. They need to improve the bed and linen service.

The apartment was roomy, comfortable, new, and had the essentials, but it felt overpriced and I wouldn't return. We missed a kitchen towel, coffee maker, and kettle or microwave. The bathroom light also kept switching on and off unpredictably. Self check-in was quick, though the 4 pm check-in and 10 am checkout felt excessive. Finding the place was quite hard, and the elevator smelled bad and was too small for three of us, a stroller, and two suitcases. Its door nearly shut as soon as it opened, leaving little time to get out.

We'd happily choose illi Surp Shiba-park again for a family trip. For Tokyo, it's unusual to find a large room at such a reasonable price: there are three double beds for up to six people, and it can easily fit six large suitcases. The clean room has a separate shower and toilet, though there's no bathtub. It was well equipped with extra tissues, mops, and a first-aid kit. There are only two bins, one in the kitchen and one in the toilet, with no way to sort rubbish. During our several-day stay, dealing with trash was awkward, and we had to contact the hotel ourselves to have it collected. We also couldn't leave luggage at the hotel on checkout because the day was a Japanese public holiday. Hamamatsucho Station was undergoing major renovations, and there were few coin lockers, so we had to take our bags to Tokyo Station. For getting to and from Haneda Airport, the location was convenient, about five minutes on foot from Daimon Station and ten from Hamamatsucho. Nearby options included 7-Eleven, Family Mart, Lawson, and chain restaurants like Matsuya, Ueshima Coffee, Toriko, and Mos… (McDonald's was being renovated).
