MIMARU Tokyo Ueno East

When our flight was cancelled, we couldn’t rebook for days. We were devastated that our trip was cut short, and worried that cancelling would be difficult because of the language barrier and because we were past the cancellation window. The hotel staff were so kind and understanding, with extraordinary empathy. Cancelling was no trouble. We eventually managed to extend the trip and booked Mimaru at another location because we were so pleased with the service and consideration. The room was exceptional and absolutely perfect for our family of four: spacious and well designed, with bunk beds for the kids. The location was fantastic, and the building had a kitchenette, bathtub, and laundry. We couldn’t have asked for more. We’d have loved the place for everything the staff did for us, but the room itself was great too. For family travel, I don’t think you’ll find better.

The park right next to the hotel was beautiful and a lovely spot for a walk or to relax after a busy day. Shops were nearby, and the train station and metro were just a few steps away, making it easy to get around Tokyo. The on-site laundry was another big convenience, especially for travel. Our apartment at Mimaru Tokyo Ueno East was spotless, spacious, and equipped with everything we needed to feel comfortable. It’s a practical base for exploring the city and taking trips around the area, especially for families or longer stays. I’d definitely come back.

We celebrated my mother’s birthday in Tokyo during our three-night stay and had contacted the hotel beforehand. We were delighted by the thoughtful, warm surprises they prepared. Special thanks to the front desk staff, Yuvi and Jun, who were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The whole front desk team was professional and attentive whenever we had questions. Our room was surprisingly spacious and very quiet compared with many other places we’ve stayed. It was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend it.

We had enough room for all four of us, two adults and two teenagers, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The only drawback was that the room got very little fresh air since just one window opened a crack. We'd recommend staying here.
