Nagomi House

For seven of us traveling as an extended family, the price and location of Guest House Nagomi worked really well. It's three blocks from Sensoji Temple and the Asakusa market stalls, with a 7-11 less than a block away. Nagomi House isn't in the busiest tourist part of the Sensoji area, so it's a little removed from the crowds and tourist prices. The train station is a 15-20 minute walk. A separate line goes straight to the sky tree, and we used the Ginza line a lot, with Asakusa at the start or end of the line. There were two bedrooms with two generously sized, queen-ish beds in each, side by side with sliding panel doors. The beds were comfortable, and the AC and heating were great. The living room couches and coffee tables got plenty of use, as did the fridge and freezer. There were two toilets, which helped with seven adults and kids. The prefab shower and bath worked fine. The standalone Japanese toilet had a bidet seat and ventilation to the outside. Finding enough outlets for all our electronics was tricky, so some things had to be plugged in outside the bedrooms. People live on the floors above the apartment, but we never heard them. The front door opens onto a short walkway to the sidewalk, and there are electric scooters to rent right next to it. We found some authentic restaurants near the house: ramen off a quiet alley, a rice pot and grilled skewers another night, and an amazing tonkatsu lunch in Azabudai by teamlab borderless. One night we picked up bentos, musubis, and croquettes from 7-11, along with crepes and strawberry daifuku we found while walking around. Be sure to get Melon Pan Kagetsu by the shrine area. We had a great time in Asakusa and Tokyo, and Nagomi House helped make it work for our group. We mostly just slept there between exploring, with an activity booked for each of the four days. It suited our needs and was a great deal, especially compared with the two different rooms we needed at the Tokyo Disneyland resort for another part of the trip. That cost more, and the amenities reflected the price. I'd have given Nagomi House five stars. The shower and bath were fine, but the bathroom was prefab.
