Nest Hotel Tokyo Yaesu

We picked this hotel for a one-night stay because it was close to the station, but we were disappointed and wouldn’t stay again. The room didn’t feel clean, and both my partner and I had skin reactions throughout the stay, so we spent as little time there as possible. When we checked the fridge after arriving, it still had previous guests’ belongings and open food inside. From the moment we entered, the place gave us a bad feeling. For what we paid, the quality didn’t match the cost, or what we expected from a three-star hotel with a four-star review rating.

The location is what gives this hotel its value, though I suspect you can find better value for money elsewhere in Tokyo. It covers the basics, and the cleaning staff are very kind and do a really good job. The free breakfast is a joke, even though the coffee is good.

The room was shockingly tiny for a twin, with no space to open two suitcases. Breakfast was only bread, and there wasn’t much left if you arrived a bit late. There’s a coffee machine by reception, but the trash bin was often full and the elevator floor wasn’t clean. I also didn’t find the front desk staff very professional. I chose the hotel for its location, but the walk to Tokyo Station was farther than the listed 12-14 minutes. A front desk woman estimated around 20 minutes, and Kayabacho subway station is the closest. We knew we were there during peak cherry blossom season, but the room rate still felt too high for such a small room.

The room is small, though it didn’t feel claustrophobic, and everything was very clean. The lobby can get crowded, with luggage stored in the middle. I liked the complimentary breakfast and the tea and coffee machine, both convenient. The location is good, although the station is still a bit of a walk.
