OYO Hotel Urban Stays Asakusa

The reception staff were friendly, and when my light began flickering on day two, they fixed it within ten minutes of me reporting it. After 10pm the front door is locked, but you can enter with a code. Room access also uses a code, which is handy. For a solo trip, this place is great if you want somewhere decent without anything fancy. The location is amazing, near the Asakusa line and the Skytree, with a direct train from Narita. I also liked being able to control the AC in the room instead of having central heating. There was a desk and chair, plus a deodoriser in the wardrobe, which I really appreciated. I’ll let the pictures do the rest, it’s really good for the price.

The reception hours are limited, so there may be nobody at the desk for a very early checkout or an arrival after 2300. That may or may not work for you. I was fine with it and would stay again. I had my first stay in Osaka here. The hotel is very convenient, less than a five-minute walk from the metro stations. My room had a single bed and bathroom, and everything was tiny, including the table, TV, and window. Cleaning was okay, though I didn’t expect much. Free amenities are available on the second floor. It’s quiet around the hotel, so I slept well. The walk to the Sky Tree is quite far, over 15 minutes, but getting to the lively Asakusa areas is very convenient. I definitely love this hotel.

The bathroom is extremely cramped, with nowhere to set even your shampoo, conditioner, or body wash packets. The bidet also seemed outdated. Some lights took a while to come on and flickered, parts of the ceiling and walls by the bed were peeling, and the vents were dusty. Compared with the five other hotels I’ve stayed in so far during my three-week trip, this single-bed room was much less accommodating. It might do if you’re after a very budget-oriented hotel, but I’d just choose an APA Hotel instead. I’m sure it would be more comfortable.

The main city attractions are nearby, and there are train stations close by as well. Check-in was quick, and the place felt secure, with good security features. The staff were very friendly and patient, and explained everything clearly. The location is convenient, around a 15-minute walk from the train station, with convenience stores, drugstores, pharmacies, and a couple of small restaurants nearby.
