Good choice for two or three nights if you’re looking for a cheap place without luxuries. The train station is very close, and Americans should find it easy to locate. Staff speak English well. Family Mart, McDonald's, and the Fukushimaya grocery store are nearby, with Fukushimaya about two blocks away in a straight line, so it’s easy to get around as a foreigner. The rooms are tiny with no storage, so luggage can make things awkward. There’s one microwave for the whole hotel, in the laundry room on the 8th floor. The shower is extremely narrow, about 1x3x7 feet, so being short or flexible might help.

We called ahead to ask about early check-in and were told it wouldn’t be a problem. After spending over ¥2,000 on a taxi, we arrived and were told we’d have to pay a full day’s fee for checking in early. This felt like a bait-and-switch, and I think the place is taking advantage of unsuspecting foreigners.

After a full night without sleep, I got there and was told early check-in would cost a full day’s fee. I’d called earlier to ask about rooms, the guy confirmed there was availability, and when I asked about checking in early, he assured me it was no problem. I’d spent over $20 on a taxi to get there. That was just wrong. One star for the bait-and-switch.
