I won’t be coming back. The location is excellent, the views are great, and the price is reasonable for what you get. I’d enjoyed my previous stay, which is why this was my second time here. But during this recent seven-night visit, a serious failure in hygiene and customer service changed my mind. On the second day, my wife and I came back to find our personal pillows, pillow covers, and intimate sleepwear scattered around the room, carelessly left on top of our luggage and the TV cabinets. As frequent travelers in Japan, we usually leave those items on the bed when we go out, and housekeeping at every professional hotel we’d visited had respected them and placed them neatly on the freshly made bed. We took photos and made a verbal complaint at the front desk right away. The hotel ignored it completely. Weeks later, management emailed a response and admitted the incident happened because cleaning procedures weren’t followed. They even blamed their own “clumsiness and dishonest behavior.” They didn’t explain why our first complaint had been ignored or offer any real service recovery. This also wasn’t the first housekeeping problem: on my previous stay, the room was skipped entirely. If location and a view are all you care about, the hotel is perfectly fine. But if you expect basic hygiene, respect for personal belongings, and professional service when something goes wrong, you may want to look elsewhere.

The room was okay, and I was comfortable there, but what really mattered was that I dropped my passport and the hotel found it. I’m very grateful. That tells me the place is safe, and it more than met papaken’s expectations. Great service, and PAPAKEN has confirmed it. The location is 10/10, but the hotel itself didn’t impress me. The service is below zero, and you’re expected to handle everything yourself. It’s not foreigner friendly at all. Housekeeping is every other day, and there’s no luggage forwarding service for destinations outside Tokyo. The walls aren’t soundproof, there’s zero closet space, and I don’t understand how this is a four-star hotel. It feels like three stars at most. I’ve stayed in three-star hotels that were better.

The service here was outstanding, and the location is hard to beat. Just be aware that the nearby train line, traffic, and emergency vehicles make it noisy, especially if you go to bed early. Shibuya felt VERY busy to me. It was my first time in Japan, so I hadn't realized that, and next time I'd stay outside the area.
