Shibuya Hotel En

We spent nine days here and found it a great value. The rooms are smaller than U.S. standards, as is typical in Japan, but we were out by around 7 a.m. and usually didn’t get back until 11 p.m., so it suited us fine. The staff were very kind, spoke English, and were always happy to answer questions. They even called a taxi for us and kept our luggage after checkout so we could keep exploring. We really appreciated that. The location worked perfectly for us. There’s a FamilyMart and a 7-Eleven next door, handy for snacks and withdrawing yen. Shibuya Crossing and Shibuya Station are about a 10 minute walk away, and there are lots of great little places to eat nearby.

We had a twin room, and it was actually quite spacious, especially the corner rooms. It’s bigger than our hotel in Osaka and roomy for the price and location. I liked the lighting too, since it didn’t have that dim hotel feel. Some reviewers called it small, and sure, it’s still a Japan hotel, but our room was big for me. There aren’t many amenities. You can’t ask for extra water, there’s no microwave or ice machine, and some usual things like an iron are missing. Still, it had what we needed, so I gave it a high rating.

I’d recommend this place if you mainly need somewhere to sleep and shower. It has what you need for that, though the room felt small for what I paid, and it’s not somewhere to hang out and relax. The location is great, just a few minutes from mega Don and the famous shibuya crossing. Checkout is early, at 10 am, but they do have luggage storage.

I’d happily stay here again. I’d read some reviews that made me a little unsure, but everything worked out well. The room was spacious and had air conditioning, and the staff were really helpful.
