Hotel & Spa J-MEX - Adults Only

I spent one night here during an overnight layover in Tokyo, and it was better than plenty of hotels I’ve stayed in. There was lots of space and a ton of amenities, including a sauna and jacuzzi in the bathroom, plus plenty of free toiletries. The room also had a big music selection and karaoke. The location was handy too, close to lots of places in Shinjuku.

If I come back to J-Mex, it’ll be for the mist and steam shower. It did wonders for my skin. For a budget extended stay, a love hotel makes sense, and the rooms here don’t feel like closets. I’m not going to compare it with another extended-stay love hotel. I liked the location partly because of the breakfast hotel across the street. Once outside, just head toward the tallest building you can see. There’s also Beijing Cuisine Magnolia (Beijing Cuisine Magnolia) down the street, open 24 hours, which made it easy to grab something quickly.

The steam room was the highlight for me. My skin felt great afterward, and it was a relaxing way to unwind after a busy day. The entertainment setup was a lot of fun too, especially the karaoke, which kept me singing for quite a while. The room itself was far more spacious than I expected for Tokyo, and it came with loads of in-room amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location in Kabukicho put lots of restaurants and places to explore within walking distance. Shinjuku is lively, and I liked being right in the middle of it all. I had a great time at Hotel & Spa J-MEX in Shinjuku. For an adults-only stay with distinctive room features and a convenient location, I’d say it’s worth a look.

We spent a lot of evenings walking around the Shinjuku area to take in the lights, shops, and nightlife. The hotel was on a back road, but still close to everything, and I’d stay again. The staff mostly leave you alone unless you need something, then they help quickly. We didn’t see anything dodgy, and the spa bath alone was worth it. We didn’t realize it was a love hotel until just before our stay, though a few quirky details might give it away. Our room had a huge spa bath, a sauna, a massage chair, lots of amenities, and a TV with all sorts on it. There are no windows, which was fine, though waking up can still feel like it’s nighttime. Breakfast was basic and delivered to us, a bonus since we hadn’t expected it. No laundry on site, but we used one less than a minute away.
