There wasn’t enough room for two people to move around. When one of us stood up, the other had to stay on the bed, and luggage made it even worse. The room was tiny, with no hooks or closet or anything to make it comfortable. We stayed four nights and nobody came to clean. I kept seeing the same black hair in the shower drain the whole time. Disgusting. The place was filthy, even though the Airbnb reviews and rating looked good. I wish I’d checked Google Maps first. We ended up spending all day outside because even sleeping there was too much. I do not recommend it.

The rooms get cleaned, though not very well. The shared areas are awful, with mold and dust everywhere, and it looks like the place hasn’t been cleaned in years. There was so much mold inside the AC that it was hard to believe. This is the dirtiest place in Japan. Hosting people in a place this bad should be illegal.

The bed was comfortable, but there were stains on the sheets. Dust had built up on every surface, including the vents and AC remote holder, and the washing machine and dryer were filthy with dust and lint. The whole unit felt dirty and cramped. We didn’t have any human interaction during our two nights there. It’s somewhat cheap, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Iriya station is a 12-minute walk, which was rough with luggage in the rain. The nearest 7/11 or other convenience store is at least 10 minutes away. There are two shower rooms, but don’t expect shampoo or shower gel like at other places I’ve stayed in Japan. The men’s and women’s toilets are separate, with no spare if one is occupied, and they’re very basic, with no bidet or seat heating. The walls are paper thin, so you can hear people talking. I’ve stayed at cheaper hostels that were cleaner, had better beds and basic facilities, and offered some human interaction. I’d look elsewhere.

The host was quick to respond and helped with our questions and requests. I was visiting Japan for the first time, and the location was good. Our room was a bit small for the nine nights we stayed, but it worked. The showers were nice, and there was a washer. Other guests didn’t bother us. I’d recommend it.
