Super Hotel Shinbashi Karasumoriguchi

Clean hotel, good value, and in a very convenient spot.

I stayed for two weeks from late October into early November, and the staff were great, always friendly and helpful. A special thanks to the woman who supervised breakfast. She was lovely, and we started chatting a little toward the end of my stay. If you see this, I’m the bald guy from London, and I hope to see you in 2025 when I come back! The hotel was very clean. I appreciated getting fresh towels each day along with a complimentary bottle of water. The dining area was clean and had a nice, natural feel, so I was happy to eat breakfast there. There’s a microwave too, so you can bring back food bought elsewhere, heat it up, and eat in the same space. At reception you can also choose a pillow to go with the one already in your room. I chose the larger room, but it was still small. I knew to expect that in a businessman hotel, and got used to it. It felt cosy, and the bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was small too, but clean as expected. The fridge was a good size for what I needed. Location was a big plus: about a ten-minute walk to Shimbashi station, which has lots of main train lines, and around 20 minutes to Ginza and Tokyo Station. Tokyo Tower and Hamarikyu Gardens are also within walking distance. I’m planning to stay here again if I make it back to Tokyo in 2025. IG: japan_man_dan

The room was extremely tiny, barely enough space for luggage, but the bed was comfortable and the staff were very attentive. Having a private bathroom makes the stay a little better than a capsule, although the bathroom itself was dated. For a short visit, it’s a reasonable choice. If you’re staying a few days or longer, you’d be better off paying ¥2000 more per night for a nearby serviced apartment with laundry and a kitchen in the room.

For someone travelling alone, this place is absolutely perfect, even though the rooms are tiny as others have said. Breakfast was a delicious buffet, mostly Japanese dishes, with a healthy range of vegetables, meat, and eggs. Service was fantastic too. Staff answered questions, offered a free ladies’ bag with face masks and other things, and gave a small gift for returning an unused toothbrush. There was another gift for filling out the survey.
