We booked four nights through the hotel website and checked the policy for children beforehand. We were told kids under six could stay free, but when we arrived, staff said they counted as adults and had to pay. After a long flight, that was exhausting and unexpected. The manager said this hotel doesn’t allow under-sixes to stay free and said they couldn’t identify the email address, even though it was from the company’s own domain. Since it was nearly midnight, we accepted their solution: pay a little more and move to a triple room, which wasn’t listed on the website. We appreciated that they tried to keep the extra cost down. The triple room was more spacious and conveniently close to the laundry room. Free skincare amenities and breakfast were among the reasons we chose the hotel. I’ve attached a photo of the hotel’s email address for anyone who wants to contact them directly.

The free breakfast is simple, and the room was clean. When I skipped room cleaning, I was given fresh towels and a complimentary bottle of water. WiFi was good enough for watching videos and browsing Instagram. I could also check the washer and dryer status on the room TV, which was handy. The one lift serves all 12 floors, and waits could be at least three minutes at busy times. I was on the 12th floor, and if the lift was going down from the 11th, I had to wait for it to go all the way to the first floor and then come back up. There’s a wide pillow selection, but none suited me. I’d suggest keeping a standard hotel pillow as an option in the room. I don’t agree with Super Hotel’s claim that it won the No. 1 customer satisfaction award in the economy hotel category. Nobody explained the hotel facilities or amenities at check-in. During breakfast, a staff member asked me to move tables while I was halfway through eating. I understand the guests on both sides had left and they wanted to join the tables for a group of four, but I really disliked being asked to move mid-meal. It affected my stay, and I’ll think twice before staying at the Otsuka Super Hotel again. (ps. nobody had taken the four-person table by the time I left.) It would help to have a return point on each floor for used towels, unsuitable pillows and sleepwear. I saw that at the Smile Hotel in Osaka last year. With nowhere to leave those items, I had to request room cleaning every two days during my five-day stay to return the towels and sleepwear. Maybe I simply didn’t know where to take them because this wasn’t explained at check-in.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was a standard Japanese size, and the bathtub was small, so the hot spring is probably a better option. There’s no room key, just a password, which was convenient. I liked being able to choose a pillow. The service was great, and breakfast was free with lots of options. They also had welcome drinks and an evening cocktail bar. It’s under a five-minute walk to the station, with convenience stores nearby and a supermarket across the street. At checkout, each person could store only one piece of luggage.

The rooms are small, as you’d expect in Tokyo, but clean. Breakfast was great and home-cooked, and they provided the toiletries you need and changed towels daily. The coin washer and dryer were inexpensive, and the facilities were clean, so it was good value overall. The staff didn’t really speak English. One person in particular made little effort to explain how breakfast worked or much else, even though I’d messaged the hotel beforehand to ask if English was okay.

The beds and rooms felt really big for Tokyo. There are lots of free extras, including toiletries, breakfast, drinks with alcohol, and a choice of pillows. The dryers are actually strong, which is rare in Tokyo. The location is good too, in a convenient neighborhood close to major stations but still peaceful. The male front desk worker with glasses and fluffy hair was so kind and gentle :) Having a little chat when I came and went made me smile ☺️ Be happy!! My only downside is that the bathroom could be a bit cleaner, especially the cracks by the bathtub and under the sink.
