The Knot Tokyo Shinjuku

The park is right beside the hotel, and the central train station is about a 10-minute walk away, which made it a great base for exploring Tokyo. Front desk service was excellent, and the staff spoke very good English. We found the second-floor facilities useful, especially the laundry room and restaurant. There’s also a great bakery and a tapas restaurant on the ground floor, and the food options at the hotel were fantastic. Staff were incredibly helpful with all our requests. A hotel with a cool vibe, a great location, and an easy recommendation for a Shinjuku stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the hotel. They quickly arranged to send our luggage to another hotel, and there are three washing machines and three dryers at reasonable prices. With so many guests, though, having more machines would help. The buffet breakfast was adequate for the price. The common areas suit groups, families, and couples, and the hotel has a youthful, modern atmosphere. Its bakery is excellent, with a wide selection of breads, pastries, and sandwiches. The espresso in the restaurant and bar area was exceptional. The rooms are extremely small, as in many hotels nearby. With two large suitcases and a cabin-size one, fitting everything was difficult, and the narrow space made it almost impossible to move around. The bed could only be reached from one side. The duvet and pillows could be better for a hotel of this style and quality. Cleanliness was generally good, though we found hair in the shower drain. Room cleaning is every three days, with daily towel changes available on request.

On this second stay at the Knot, the staff were great as always, and you can’t beat the location by the park. But this visit wasn’t as good as the first. We were placed outside the cleaning amenities room, and the noise meant we couldn’t sleep past 7:30. I understand those rooms have to go to someone, though I’d usually expect them to be used for shorter stays. The other guests were also incredibly loud this time, something we hadn’t experienced on our first visit.

We’d happily stay here again. It was one of the best hotels on our Japan trip, with really clean rooms and a central spot across from a lovely park, close to transit and the Metropolitan building’s light show and Tokyo views. Downstairs, there’s a great bakery with delicious Sunday Vegan options and a cafe/bar with a good menu. We also liked having a gym, laundry, and a large lobby table for relaxing or working. Arnold, Axl and Ryo were fantastic, professional, friendly, and great at looking after guests. ❤️ Thanks, Jane
