That garden is huge, and apparently you can book ahead to have a BBQ there. Inside, the living room has a comfortable sofa, a separate dining table, and an ocean view. Open the window and you can hear the waves. There were four of us adults, and we all found the place so comfortable we joked about living there. It’s a one-bedroom with a kitchen, but the size felt just right, and it was packed with useful facilities. I was especially surprised to find coffee beans and a makeup mirror. The owner has a real knack for thinking of what guests might need. It was the most satisfying place I’ve stayed, and one night felt far too short. We’d love to come back for longer. Thank you!

We had such a good time in the spacious room that one night felt like a shame. The kitchen is roomy too, so buying ingredients and cooking would be nice. I’d definitely stay here again.

The location is lovely, but getting around would have been easier with a car. A local bus passes on the road outside, though it only comes once or twice an hour. With a car, we could have gone about 30 minutes east to the Uoden market for fresh seafood at a good price. We bought five turban shells, eight clams, and one medium-sized black porgy for 2,000 yen total, then enjoyed a BBQ. We’d like to return in autumn when the leaves at Kankakei change color. We stayed three nights as a couple over 60, and among the private lodgings we’ve tried over the past seven years, this is easily in our top three. The Seto Inland Sea view from the living room is spectacular, and the large grassy front yard lets you BBQ with the view to yourself. The room was clean in every corner, the king-size bed was comfortable, and the furnishings were tastefully arranged. There’s a large TV in front of a sofa big enough for three adults to relax on, and you can log in to Netflix and other major channels. A sandy beach for casting fishing is just a few minutes away on foot. As a bird lover, I was delighted to see rock thrush, white wagtail, and house martin up close, as well as an unfamiliar wild bird that landed in the yard several times. I kept wondering, “Who are you!?” We heard the gentle Japanese bush warbler from morning to evening, but sadly never saw it. All in all, this was one of those places where you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. Highly recommended!

The stars were incredibly beautiful, and I wish I’d had more time to enjoy them. I’d also like to come back for swimming, insect catching, and a BBQ if I get the chance. Since it’s an island, there are bound to be plenty of insects, and with the kids and just one night for sightseeing, we couldn’t fully enjoy that side of the stay. Still, it made a great summer memory. I’ve just got home safely and wanted to write right away: this private rental was absolutely wonderful, and we had a relaxing, luxurious time. I booked based on reviews, and it exceeded my expectations. Everything we needed was there, and the facilities and amenities were excellent. Thank you very much.
