Bird Stay Hotel

There are plenty of hotels around Tottori Station, but most seem old. This one is my pick: it’s within walking distance of the station, and even if you have a car, I think it’s worth staying here for a while.

My favorite part was the Japanese-style room with tatami and a bed. It was roomy, relaxing, and especially convenient for seniors. I loved being able to sit on the tatami and still sleep in a bed. The building is old, though it was clean. The pajamas were comfortable too, and didn’t come undone while I slept like a yukata might. The staff were very nice. I had the breakfast set at Sunaba Coffee on the first floor, and I really liked it. The communal bath isn’t especially large, but I still prefer having one to having a bath in the room. I didn’t use the massage chairs and other amenities on the second floor. Since it’s close to Tottori Station, I do worry about train noise. I recommend it, and especially liked the tatami and bed.

The room was simple, clean, and comfortable, and the front desk staff were polite and helpful. I especially enjoyed the free-flowing hot spring bath, which was a lovely experience and just the right temperature. The hotel is in town near Tottori Station. I’d been looking forward to breakfast at Sunaba Coffee, and the Japanese set meal, limited to 20 servings, didn’t disappoint. The blended coffee afterward was delicious too. I’d definitely stay here again.

The Japanese-style room was spacious and had a calming feel. The public bath was simply built and didn’t really feel like a hot spring at first, but the water quality was better than I expected. By the morning of the second day, I could feel a real difference in my skin. I’d return to Tottori just for that bath. The man at the front desk was very kind. I had a few questions and requests before check-in because of certain circumstances, and he made sure I was completely comfortable with the stay. The man at Sunaba Coffee on the first floor was kind too, and gave us a pleasant start to the day. Parking can be an issue. Since it was summer, we were lucky to find a free spot a short walk away, so it didn’t bother us much. I had a very comfortable stay and would love to spend about a week here if I could. I’d stay again if I come to Tottori.
