Ginka

Our room had a lovely river view, and the cedar tub there was a treat since we couldn't use the hotel baths. It was easy to get into town for the hot springs, Osenji temple, and shops. The Japanese-style room was spacious, clean, and beautiful. From the messages before check-in to the free shuttle and meal service, everyone was kind and ready to help. The seasonal traditional food was plentiful, and you could tell the ingredients were high quality and prepared with care. If you're after a relaxing stay as well as the onsens, Maruyamagawa Onsen Ginka is a great choice. I'd recommend Ginka to couples wanting a real ryokan experience. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The inn sits a little away from everything, which makes it great for relaxing, and there's always a free shuttle to Kinosaki. Our room felt like a dream, and the clean onsen has a beautiful river view. Try the heartfelt breakfast, and I'd recommend getting a day-pass for onsen-hopping. Best ryokan near kinosaki.

The water quality was really good, and the food was absolutely delicious, even by Japanese standards. They serve so much that you'll be full to the point of dropping, then leave extra snacks in case you somehow have room for more. My husband and I come from Europe to Japan for onsen almost every year, so I have high expectations and I'm not easily impressed. This place still won me over. It's not cheap, but worth every penny. There's a lovely mix of old and new, with little touches everywhere: supper, shampoo choices, a welcome note, Yakult, the garden, the walk to the dining area, and private dining. The room view is so peaceful, with the occasional fish popping out. Some staff speak English, and we were treated with gentle hospitality.
