Check-in was easy, and there was 24-hour access in the peaceful town of Kinosaki. The staff were excellent, and the rooms were well appointed, quiet, and relaxing. It's a lovely little inn above a cafe near the train station, where you can get a terrific breakfast set for less than 1,000 yen.

We were very happy here and would gladly stay again if we return to Kinosaki. The hotel doesn't include a hot springs pass, though you can buy one at any of the baths. They do lend yukatas, including children's sizes, and shoes for getting around during your stay. The staff were so kind. While we waited for our third futon, they even gave us a couple of canneles from the cafe. They had floor mattresses and set up an extra one for our daughter. The breakfast was lovely, with toast, egg, sausage, yogurt, coleslaw, and a choice of coffee, tea, or juice. The connected cafe also serves other meals, which we liked, and has two foot baths. The price was great, and being right beside the train station made it easy to arrive with our luggage.

The price felt worthwhile as long as you're not traveling by car. We paid 19,000 JYP a night for two people. The hotel has no parking, and the nearest option, at the train station, was very expensive. Our spacious room was on the second floor, and you can see the hotel from Kinosaki train station. It had a toilet and washbasin, but no shower or bath. You have to use the public onsen, which suited me since visiting Kinosaki meant trying as many onsens as possible. My husband, though, doesn't like using onsen, so it was inconvenient for him. Breakfast was included, a simple medium-sized set of egg, toast, yogurt, and coffee. Free yukata were available too, but there was no Kinosaki Onsen day pass. You can buy either a single pass or a day pass at any of the onsens.

We were very happy with our stay. The room was clean and spacious, with a minimalist look, and the staff were friendly. Downstairs, the guest house's cafe felt modern and had a foot bath. You can borrow a yukata to wear between the onsens or when going out for dinner.

Waking up above a coffee shop means you get the smell of fresh coffee in the morning. The staff were very friendly, and the cozy room had large windows that made mornings feel peaceful. A real hidden gem in Kinosaki.
