Kamenoi Hotel Tsukubasan

The location is convenient and the atmosphere is peaceful, making it a good fit for business or leisure. Ibaraki Kamenoi Hotel had clean, spacious, well-equipped rooms where we could relax after traveling. The staff were polite, friendly, and ready to help. The onsen and breakfast were excellent, with a nice touch of Japanese hospitality. Highly recommended!

My husband and I really enjoyed the dinner and breakfast buffets. The hotel has been recently renovated and is near the cable car up Mt. Tsukuba. The rooftop onsen is amazing. I'd recommend it for couples and families.

The buffet is quite nice, and I recommend it. It's not a big resort, but the smaller dining room is much nicer. I also forgot to mention that the seventh-floor bath is an infinity pool with a great sunset view over the area and the Tokyo skyline on the horizon. Set on the mountainside of My Tsukuba, this Onsen hotel made for a pretty good getaway in the countryside, with nice views. The seventh-floor bath lets you see all the way to Tokyo. The first-floor bath has indoor and outdoor sections, though there are only a few amenities for after bathing, basically body lotion, soap, and a hair dryer. That floor, the second floor, and the seventh floor each have a bath. There are only a limited number of washing stations on the seventh floor, and the water generally isn't very hot, so you'll be disappointed if you like baths at different temperatures. The rooms are nice and have a safe. Most basic amenities are in the room or available in the lobby. For a simple Onsen experience out in the country, with good views, it's a great place to get away.

We had a comfortable 3-day, 2-night stay at KAMENOI HOTEL Tsukubasan from 13-15 May 2025. The room was spacious and clean overall, and gave us a relaxing place to return to after our daily outings. The open-air bath alternates between male and female guests at different times of day. There are no private onsen options. The buffet was satisfying, though the selection stayed the same each day. On the first night, we found lots of fine hairs under the blanket, and my spouse's skin became irritated. Housekeeping changed the sheets promptly and provided topical medicine. The staff member also kindly said we could contact them again if the irritation didn't improve. Omori San at the front desk was especially helpful. He gave us detailed local information and proactively helped arrange our luggage courier, making the stay easy and worry-free. Thanks to the whole team for the warm service. Despite the small issue, we appreciated their quick response and would consider coming back.
