We had a wonderful stay at Oriental Tokyo Hotel and would love to come back. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and polite, and the room was clean and modern. The TV had Netflix and could be linked to your account. I also liked the amenities, especially the yuzu bath salt and hair oil. Breakfast was delicious, with a breakfast burger, donuts, and fresh orange juice. The washer and dryer were separate on the second floor, and you could pay by credit card, no coins needed. They accepted paid Amazon packages and offered luggage forwarding through Sagawa on the first floor. Getting to Disney was easy. Parking cost 3000 yen per night, with plenty of space on the first and second floors. They also offered free snacks, and a 24-hour Lawson was accessible. Thanks for a great experience!

We were a family of four with young kids, and the room was fantastic: spacious, with very comfortable beds and a nice warm shower. The hotel was a perfect starting point for our trip to Japan. We could take a direct shuttle from Narita, and there’s also a complimentary shuttle to Disney. The subway line is easy to reach, especially for getting to Tokyo Station. Across the street is a shopping plaza for anything you need, plus a well-stocked Lawson open 24 hours. We’d definitely recommend it.

The welcome lounge has lovely decor, and the employees are top notch and service oriented. It’s a clean hotel, and the room was larger than the other Japanese hotel rooms we’ve stayed in. Shopping nearby is great, and the Disney shuttle was convenient and on time. The a/c was the problem. It doesn’t blow well, which seems standard here. Even after running all day, the room might get down to 21C, but with two or three warm bodies in there it would climb back to 25C. It was hard for us to sleep at that temperature. The hotels in Kyoto had good blowers, so it can be done here in Japan.

For families visiting Tokyo Disney Resort, Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay offers great value, a convenient location, and roomy accommodations, despite some clear areas for improvement. We had a very clean, well-renovated room with four twin beds, two pushed together as a king. There was also room for a rollaway and a sofa bed, so six could sleep comfortably. We were a family of three, so it was more than enough. The bathroom had a standard Japanese layout, with a wetroom bathtub and shower and a separate toilet. The hotel shuttle to Tokyo Disneyland and Disneysea was useful, and even at peak times we waited no more than 10 minutes. Shin Urayasu station is just steps away, with Atre, Mona, and Aeon attached. All three malls have a wide range of shopping and dining. The lobby has a complimentary lounge, amenities to take to your room like shower and bath kits, coffee, and tea, self-serve storage, and an interactive kids projector show and game. The lounge was the biggest letdown. It’s unsupervised, and some guests behaved selfishly or inappropriately. Before opening, we saw someone take dozens of cups of nuts, picking out all the hazelnuts, cashews, and almonds and leaving only peanuts before others could try them. Kids were licking serving spoons and coughing in the cotton candy maker. There was no staff checking who came in, so anyone could help themselves, though I’m not sure if that was intentional. Snack quality was so-so. We’d booked lunch at the hotel, but cancelled after seeing how the lounge was managed because we worried the restaurant might be similar. Self-serve beer and sparkling wine were a nice treat, but some guests’ behavior spoiled it. Other amenities needed attention too. Check-in took 30 minutes despite our family being fluent in Japanese. The hotel's exchange rate was far off: when I wrote this, $1CAD was 109YEN, but the hotel offered 102YEN. The guest amenities room was open to the public, and people rushed in at 2PM or earlier and took everything. Soap, toothbrushes, body towels, toothpaste, and the other products were very low quality, perhaps to offset some guests’ selfishness. The amenities and how they were managed reminded me of a typical business hotel. The building is quite old, with very dated elevators. Despite photos that make the lobby look bright and lively, there’s very little natural light there.

The bathroom was excellent, with strong water pressure and a bathtub that was great for soaking. The room itself was small but clean, tidy, and comfortable. Special thanks to the staff who went above and beyond to track down my daughter’s lost stuffed toy. They arranged things so we got it just before leaving Japan.
