Hiroko san came to meet us in under 5 minutes, even though we'd been told we could check ourselves in. The room was cosy, clean, comfortable and spacious, with adaptors, a heated carpet for colder weather, and plenty of bath towels. The hostel has enough bathrooms for guests, so we never had to wait for a shower. Laundry costs ¥300/times for the washer and ¥100/30mins for the dryer, paid with coins in the box or by scanning a QR code. There's also a mini kitchen with other amenities, and we could leave our luggage there after checking out. Before you go, leave Hiroko san a note or message! 📸

The owners are really kind and go out of their way to help guests. My room was private, while the kitchen, bathroom and shower were shared. It was comfortable.

I've stayed at ryokans that were much less comfortable, so I wouldn't really call this place a hostel. My room was huge, spotless and very comfortable. I also liked the kitchen, showers and bathroom. The location is great, and the owner was incredibly helpful and made me feel at home. I absolutely loved staying here and can't recommend it enough.

The host's hospitality was the best part. They offered to pick us up, helped find somewhere for dinner on New Year's night, and welcomed us with oranges, which Wakayama is famous for. Everything was clean and comfortable, with enough amenities, fresh sheets and extra blankets. There were lots of travel guides, and we could ask them directly for recommendations. I'd stay here again if I get the chance.

The host kindly picked me up from JR station when I arrived early, and the attraction they recommended was amazing. My room was tidy and clean. There were enough shared washrooms for all the guests, so I never had to wait for a bath. It's also convenient to get to JR station, about 10 minutes by bus. I'd definitely stay again on another trip to Wakayama.
