It was cloudy and rainy when my friends and I first arrived in the Kawaguchiko area, so Mt Fuji was hidden. Staying here overnight was well worth it because we got a sunny day the next day. It's a rural place with cozy rooms and family-sized baths, though the baths are only available until 10 pm. We had the basics, including toothbrushes and towels. The owner speaks and understands some English, enough to explain a few things during our stay. We walked to Oshino Hakkai early the next morning, and the autumn leaves along the way were a lovely bonus. It was a beautiful walk. I recommend it!

Ha Da San was so friendly, even with limited English. The room was spotless, and the shared shower and toilet were very clean too. Fresh towels and face towels were provided each day. A handy base if you're driving between Hakone and Mt Fuji.

You can see Mt. Fuji from the room, though I think that depends on which room you get. The innkeepers are lovely, and I'd happily come back. There's parking, it's non-smoking, and there is a curfew. The bath is a private family bath that you lock from the inside.

The kids had a great time during our stay while they were here for a basketball tournament, and we'd love to return. The Japanese-style room was roomy and comfortable, and everything was clean and well looked after. We enjoyed the food, and the hot springs felt wonderful after a tiring day.
