We loved the hospitality, the area, and how clean everything was. The rooms were new and clean, and the bath area was very clean and hot. The owner is a kind, attractive woman. We asked her to call us a cab, but taxis were busy, so she came back to our room and offered to drive us herself. That was beyond the norm. The price was good too. There was construction during the day, but it wasn’t a problem if you checked in after 3. You can hear through the walls from the opposite sex, so be careful what you say. It’s a 5-7 minute drive to town, or a 35-minute walk home. There’s a private outdoor deck attached to your room. The place is pretty isolated, though some of us prefer that. Monkey park is 5km away. Unfortunately, the place is going to be converted into a retirement home because of the economic downturn.

We came in winter when there was lots of snow around. The indoor and outdoor Onsen baths were lovely, and the friendly staff were attentive to our questions and needs. It would have been amazing to enjoy the Onsen while it was snowing, but unfortunately the timing didn’t work out for us. The only downside is the remote location, right on the outskirts of town. The nearest convenience store takes about 15-20 minutes to reach on foot.
The rooms were good, and the staff were friendly. A nice pension.
The sauna was a highlight, and the hot spring water kept the heat from feeling too intense. There are indoor and outdoor baths, plus chairs outside, though no cold plunge. I also liked the massage chair, which costs 100 yen for 15 minutes. Drinks with alcohol are available, though a bit pricey. I used the place to fill time before my trip to Kakuma Onsen. I heard overnight stays were possible until recently, so I wish they offered hourly room rentals.
It has a retro feel and is really relaxing, so I expect I'll come back. The water is clear and has no smell, around 42°C. The changing and washing areas aren't roomy, but there's enough space. A friendly older woman is at reception, and valuables can go in lockers there since the changing room lockers have no doors. Hair dryers are free, and there's a sauna. No rest room. You can make onsen eggs by the entrance for ¥100.
