Hotel Radiant

I was there last week, and it was really bad. Probably among the worst hotels I've ever stayed at.

My worst hotel stay in Japan, or close to it.

We were told, “Oh, I see,” and that was it when I said I didn't want dinner or breakfast the next day. I was already angry because the lunch area was crowded, so I deliberately showed up 10 minutes late, only to find they'd cleared everything away. (T-T) It's the usual ski lodge sort of place, but there was no human connection at all. They were really annoyed, too. I won't come back unless I have to for work. I stayed for three days and two nights.

For three of us, the room was so tiny we could barely fit three futons. Amenities weren't available unless you asked, and they wouldn't open the convenience store unless someone requested it. When I asked whether there was a convenience store nearby, I was told there wasn't, even though there was one close by. The food was awful, like it cost 30 yen, and the rice was dry, as if it had been sitting for a week. Customer service was terrible. The rental staff were nice, but everyone else seemed to have no motivation, with no hospitality to speak of. I was just glad to have somewhere to stay, but in my 21 years I've never had a hotel experience this bad.
