Yahatahama Century Hotel Ito

The 7th floor bar was a real highlight. The master sommelier was helpful and informative, and there’s a fine selection of Italian-style dishes. I’d skip the hotel dinner and eat at the bar instead. The dinner service itself was very nice, though the meal looked nothing like the beautiful photos on the maps website. The owners and staff were very kind, but the rooms need a major upgrade. There were no hooks, racks, or shelves in the washstand or bath and shower areas for towels, clothes, or toiletries. There was no soap at the washstand either, so I had to step into the unit bath to use the body soap dispenser.

We stopped by the friendly bar on the 7th floor for sunset. It had just opened in 2/2021. The view was stellar, with ferries coming and going and orange groves on the steep hills around them. Good small bites and wine by the glass, all at reasonable prices. Recommended!

Being able to lock my bike up securely was a big plus, and the staff were very helpful. Great hotel, delicious breakfast. Warmest regards to everyone on the team.

I often stay here when motorcycle touring in the Kyushu area, on the way to or from work. It’s a local business hotel with older facilities, but they’re well maintained and comfortable. The town center location is convenient for sightseeing, near the roadside station, and the Uwajima Transport Ferry is right across the street. The Kyushu-Shi National Highway Ferry is also easy to reach and use. Room service is a rare feature these days. The menu is a bit pricey, but has dishes like sea bream rice and champon. The portions are filling and the food is tasty, so you can enjoy local specialties without going out to eat. If you arrive by motorcycle, staff guide you to a spot at the back under the eaves. It’s not very spacious, and there’s a step at the entrance that can feel a little intimidating. I’d get there early to find an easy-to-access space.
