EXECUTIVE HOTEL GRAND GARDEN - Adult only

The automatic locks made me feel trapped, and I didn’t feel safe. You have to call staff to get in or out. The rooms are spacious and the staff were nice, but I still wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone on that basis. I also noticed at least one camera attached to the TV, which I didn’t like. Little lights from the karaoke system and the light and aircon control pad stay on and can’t be switched off, making it hard to sleep. This seems suited only to a one-hour appointment, if you know what I mean. Holidaymakers should avoid it.

The thing I wish I’d known is that there’s no key for leaving or entering your room. Each time you want to go out or come back, you have to call reception, or you can’t get through the door. I understand that’s how the business operates, but being locked in brought on anxiety, claustrophobia, and paranoia. My partner and I were visiting the city and stayed in more than we wanted because of it. The staff were friendly and helpful, but that didn’t make up for the experience. The room was larger than most places at this price, but it wasn’t very clean. There was a stain on the mattress, and the sheets were a little too small to cover it properly. Some other reviews mention cameras. I didn’t see any, and I don’t think those concerns are accurate, but I can understand why people might wonder: there are several one-way mirrors in the lobby and some odd devices around the room. I’d have a hard time recommending this for a city trip or a romantic date. If someone took me here on a date, I probably wouldn’t be impressed.

This didn’t feel tourist-friendly, and the staff didn’t speak English. The doors lock automatically, and you have to pay an extension fee before they’ll open yours. The machine has no English translation. I don’t understand why I was charged another $20 for being 10 minutes over.

The room was really comfortable, and the station is nearby.
