Has anyone else had this happen? The bath water is brownish with a yellow tint, and every time I use it my nose runs and feels blocked for no apparent reason. It reminds me of a cat allergy. The room is dusty, and the ashtray is always full of the previous guest's cigarettes.
I won't be coming back. The elderly man with glasses had a terrible attitude. When I left, he grumpily told me to call the front desk first, even though he hadn't locked the door. It was infuriating and made the whole visit feel like a waste of money. The security was frighteningly poor. They advertise an automatic lock, but it didn't lock when I entered or when I went out. The dim hallway lights also made the place feel creepy. It's high up in the mountains, so you can't walk there, and there aren't any convenience stores nearby. I wish I hadn't come.
The water heater was clean, but there were several annoyances. The staff were very informal, and the slot machines were dusty. When I used the microwave or hair dryer, the lights dimmed and the room went dark while the appliances were running. A different shampoo costs 100 yen, just so you know.
It's an old place, but the staff are friendly and I find it comfortable with my partner, as long as I'm not after somewhere stylish or pretty. The membership card is discreet enough to keep in a wallet, and points get deducted automatically when they add up. Payment is cash only. Check the service hours and deals. There are lots of places nearby, including OK Store, 7-Eleven, a drugstore, a game center, Lalaport Yokohama, and Anrakutei. The room has dial controls for air conditioning and heat, but it inevitably smells of cigarette smoke. There's a DVD player, though the picture quality is so poor I wouldn't recommend watching movies. A switch lets you choose terrestrial TV or hotel channels: mahjong broadcasts, anime or Korean dramas, and old adult videos. There's no USEN (internet service). At the bedside, the switch only controls the lights. One condom is provided, and there are tissues. You get coffee, powder, sugar, and two green tea bags. The room also has a refrigerator, microwave, cups, glasses, teaspoons, and a small adult toy vending machine. The bathroom has a bubble bath function. Amenities include lotion, emulsion, a brush, toothbrush, men's razor, yarn hair ties, shower cap, bubble bath powder, body sponge, body soap, and rinse-in shampoo. There's a small built-in hairdryer, but it takes a while to dry your hair. You can borrow a curling iron for free at the front desk. Bath towels and two sets of face towels are provided, but the towels aren't for taking home.
