The room and bathroom had just the basics, but both were very clean. We could use the washing machines, too. Everything else went smoothly and was easy, just don't lose your keycard.

We chose Livemax because there’s a microwave in the room, which matters when we're picky about what we eat. It's less than 10 minutes from Ishikawa station, right in the middle of Chinatown but still pretty quiet. We'd stay here again.

After losing my keycard, I was told the replacement charge was over 9.000,00 Yen. It's only a plastic card, and I'd never encountered a fee like that. At four other hotels in japan, I was told replacing a lost card was free. I spent two hours arguing at reception that the amount was disproportionate. Nobody loses a card on purpose. They also wouldn't let us speak to the hotel manager, and wouldn't give me access to the medication in my luggage unless I paid. I felt my situation was shamelessly exploited. I can't recommend this hotel chain with policies like that.

There’s a vending machine in the lobby, and the rooms have useful basics: toiletries, slippers, robes or pajamas, a refrigerator, an air purifier, and even a microwave for takeout. The hotel is in Chinatown, so there are plenty of affordable, tasty places to eat. Motomachi train station is about 5 to 10 minutes away, and Yamashita Park, Yokohama Park, Yokohama Bay, and Yokohama Stadium are also nearby.
