Hotel Tetora Tsurumi

We had a few beers and a really nice time together. The German beer tasted especially authentic.

The breakfast is pretty sparse, just bread, croissants, coffee, juice, and soup. Some fruit would be a good addition. It's an okay place, though I think the price is a bit high for what's included.

The room is small, but the station is only 3 minutes away. Lots of Chinese customers.

Hotel Tetra Tsurumi is an easy 4-minute walk from the East Exit of JR Tsurumi Station, with convenient access to other areas. One funny perk is the hotel's "baldness discount": guests who say they're bald or have a shaved head like the president get several hundred yen off as a little thank-you from the hotel. The old-fashioned room key has a stick-shaped fob with the room number cut off, which gives it a nostalgic feel. My room looked clean and presentable unless you inspected every corner, and for a business hotel of this level it was adequate. The floor is hardwood, which you don't see as often, and the bathroom is a standard unit style. There's complimentary breakfast in the morning, served from covered containers, which felt hygienic. I arrived first and sat in a corner of the clean, pleasant dining area where I could see the whole room. The selection isn't big, but it was a decent breakfast.
