The rooftop terrace bar is lovely, though the weather makes a big difference. The hotel is very pet-friendly, so expect to see plenty of dogs in the lobby around check-in and checkout; anyone with allergies should keep that in mind. I stayed at the newly opened OMO7 Yokohama by Hoshino Resorts, right next to the stadium, and found the location perfect. Rooms are spacious, clean, and nicely designed for a relaxing stay. Breakfast buffet has lots of tasty choices. You can also buy the stylish mugs and loungewear from the rooms at the hotel gift shop. For water, take the empty pitcher from your room to the hallway hydration station, using your room key.

The room felt a bit small, though I had one of the larger ones, and the design made good use of the space. The bathroom lights kept switching on and off. Still, there are many shops and restaurants nearby, as well as a station for public transport, which makes this a convenient place to stay. In a large city, I can’t really blame anyone for the room size. Overall, it’s a great hotel.

In the evenings, the “Hama Night” jazz event runs 7:00-10:30 PM, with live music on Fridays and Saturdays, bringing a festival feeling to the hotel. There are also dog-friendly floors, Japan’s first detergent-free Smart Laundry, and a direct connection to THE LIVE, the official BayStars entertainment venue with nine restaurants.
