Super Hotel Yonago Ekimae

The room was clean and comfortable, I slept well, and the hot spring was nice. But check-in was an awful experience, and this was my worst stay with the Super Hotel group. I arrived around 2:45 and knew check-in began at 3, so I waited. At 3 on the dot, reception asked me to check in. One female staff member requested my passport, copied it, and returned it. She then noticed the reservation details showed two people and a child, even though I had booked for myself. I had my email conversation and a printed confirmation with me, and showed them the hard copy. They took it, but she seemed unsure what to do, walked off to serve another guest without telling me, and left me waiting. A second female staff member came over and took a long time. She asked for my passport again, even though I’d already handed it over and they’d photocopied it. I asked for my printed confirmation back, but they didn’t know where it was. They pointed out that the first staff member had taken it and not returned it. Please serve guests one at a time and let them know if you need to step away. Asking for my passport twice and losing track of my confirmation left me worried about how safely my passport information was handled. The staff also couldn’t communicate well in English. Management needs to improve staff training.

Yonago itself smelled bad, unfortunately. The hotel was pretty good, though. The rooms were comfortable and convenient, with your choice of pillow, PIN access, and an HDMI connector that was easy to reach.

The happy-hour bar is ridiculously good, and the hotel is close to the main station.

There’s just one natural hot spring bath, so men and women have separate hours. The hotel is a business property near Yonago station. Women can pick up to five free amenities, and breakfast is included the next day. It can get busy depending on when you go.
