We liked being a little away from the bars and clubs, though it was still just a 10-15 minute walk into town. Our standard twin room had a balcony overlooking the pool, and the beds were very comfortable. Everything was new and clean, the pool was large and clean, and the TV had streaming services. It was close to five stars for us, but the WiFi in our room was slow and patchy. The shower pressure was poor, and the water swung between scalding hot and ice cold. Nearly every evening people were loud around the pool. At 11.30PM, with the pool meant to close at 10pm, people were screaming and jumping in, so I had to call reception. The hotel should enforce the closing rules more firmly so other guests can enjoy their stay.

The location is good, with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby and an easy walk around Kampot. The room issues made the stay frustrating, though. Deluxe Rooms are downstairs with no privacy, as guests walk past and people at the pool can look in, so you have to keep the curtains shut. The online listing shows a balcony for Deluxe Rooms, so I assumed they were upstairs. When I asked to switch upstairs, they said it was fully booked, but after I kept asking, they offered one for an extra 5 USD per night, even though it was a downgrade to a Standard Room. That's questionable practice. There was mould in the bathroom, the safety deposit box didn't work and nobody could help, and the A/C took ages to cool the room. Nobody speaks English, and there's no breakfast or coffee.

A lovely, beautiful hotel with spacious rooms and both indoor and outdoor bathrooms. The pool is very nice, and downtown is within walking distance.

It's a nice new place, and I'd definitely stay again. One drawback for a new build is the 3-in-1 bathroom: there's no partition, so taking a shower leaves the whole floor wet.
