Khemra I Guesthouse

We stayed for more than a month and found it hard to leave. It’s a cozy place with a homely feel, and we were comfortable and relaxed throughout. The staff are attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. The owner also surprised us with little treats from her garden. There’s a market nearby, a supermarket at the end of the street, and the promenade and lotus pond are both within easy reach.

I’d already booked a room for two nights, but when I arrived there was no room available. What made it worse was that nobody came to speak with me face-to-face or try to sort it out. A tourist service should take responsibility and find a proper solution for its guests, instead of just saying there’s no room and doing nothing.

Clean, quiet, spacious rooms and lovely staff. We wanted to add another night, but they were full over Lunar New Year. Good value for the money, and there’s a nice restaurant next door as well as a laundry. I recommend it!

I’m paying $8 (US) a night for a fan room. The beds are comfortable, not too hard, and the bedding is spotless. Rooms are very clean, fresh, and well maintained, and the front desk staff speak English. They’ve been polite and helpful. It’s close to the market and about a 10-minute walk to the main bridge by the river.
