Koh Rong Ocean View Bungalows

A very bad experience. The staff were rude and took no responsibility. The rooms were small compared with the pictures they showed, and very dirty, with dust and trash under the bed. The bathroom was disgusting. At night, you could hear rats running above your head.

The beach is under 100 meters away, and the atmosphere is nice. We had a pleasant bungalow with mosquito nets over the beds, though I’d still use repellent at night. The shower and toilet were in a wet-room setup, which is enough for a beach stay. The toilet didn’t flush very well, and we had to refill its tank with water. If you’re an experienced backpacker, that shouldn’t be a problem. At $20 per person per night, it’s hard to complain, but a bit more luxury will cost you more.

Don’t stay here, and don’t rent jet skis here. I’ve lived in Asia for years and stayed in many places, and this was by far the worst, especially for the price. The towels were gross and yellow, the sheets didn’t seem clean, and it was so loud at night that you shouldn’t expect to sleep. We knew a central location would mean some noise, but gaps around the doors let in everything from the street and other rooms, plus a crazy number of mosquitoes. It felt like a scam. We also tried their jet ski rental. The jetski kept stopping, and we didn’t even get 15 of the 30 minutes.

You’re just steps from the beach, and the location is central. It did get noisy sometimes. Scooter rental was $10 per day.
