Ark House

From check-in through departure, the staff came across as friendly and professional, and made the place feel welcoming. My room had a refrigerator and washing machine, which was more convenient than I expected. The floor and bathroom were clean, and the facilities overall were well maintained. The hotel has good amenities and great service. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, easy stay.

The staff were really nice and helpful, and we chose this place twice because we wanted to stay near the airport. On our arrival in Phnom Penh, though, the room smelled strongly of cigarettes. We asked for a non-smoking room for our last night before going home, and they were kind about it and moved us to one that smelled much less smoky. The rooms look clean at first, but I found a toenail beside the bed and chewing gum stuck under the bedside lamp. Most of the snacks in the room were already past their expiry date. The hallway noise also carries through the room doors, so you can hear almost anything happening outside. We paid $80 for the first night after making an early reservation. The daily rates on the reception screen suggested a suite might have cost the same, while our second stay was cheaper. They deducted $5 from our $20 deposit after I dropped a glass, which seemed fair. We cleaned it up and left the broken glass in the ashtray in our non-smoking room so housekeeping wouldn't get hurt. Next time we're in the city, we'll probably look for another option.

The pool has lovely views of the city and sunset, and the clean rooms have a homey but luxurious feel. The ARK Hotel staff were kind and incredibly helpful, and made our stay easy. Thanks!
