I was staying at Mad Monkey and was told I could go to this bar without a T-shirt. Once there, the staff said that wasn’t allowed, even though I saw other people inside without shirts. The rule clearly wasn’t being applied consistently, and I felt singled out. It was frustrating. I expected clearer communication and fair treatment from a place that promotes a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere. If there are rules, they should be made clear and applied to everyone.

It’s right in a lively part of Phnom Penh, with lots of bars and cafes nearby, so the location is super convenient. The private rooms are clean but very basic, and the price per night is good value for the area. There are no lifts, though, and you have to haul your luggage up steep steps to reach reception and your room.

The rooms are clean and basic, and the price is very affordable for such a touristy area. There are notable bars and cafes down the road, and the rooftop bar next door draws a popular young tourist crowd. The location gets a 10/10 from me. Getting there is a pain with luggage: reception and the rooms are on the third floor, up two steep flights of stairs, with no lift. It also stays noisy in the early hours because it’s so central. Light sleepers may have trouble sleeping.
