Mipo Oceanside Hotel

We came back for a second stay, mostly because the view is amazing. Our window faced straight out to the ocean, and the smart curtains and motorised TV, which moves up or down, let us enjoy the full view. The room was clean, well equipped and comfortable. Getting there is the less convenient part: it’s about a 15-minute walk from the train station, and the nearest bus stop is 5-10 minutes away. With big luggage, we’d suggest taking a taxi from the station. It’s affordable and saves the hassle. Once there, several attractions are easy to reach on foot, including the Blue Line Capsule Train, Haeundae Beach and Busan X The Sky. The Visit Busan Pass also makes it easy to cover some attractions nearby. Free breakfast is simple, with white bread, eggs, milk, coffee and fruits, and you can fry your own egg. Basic, but we thought it was worth it. A good affordable pick if you want an ocean-view stay! 🌊✨

Haeunde beach is on Busan’s eastern side, so getting to the west or city centre takes a long time. It’s a pleasant spot in itself, and close to Millak, Centum city and beach trains, but may not be the best base for museums and some historical landmarks. The beach and local fish markets also have a typical odour, which can’t be helped. As for the hotel, it’s rated two stars but feels like a four-star facility. The rooms were cosy, clean and tidy, the staff were kind, and the breakfast facilities were decent. I can’t say a bad word about it, even if I had to.

It’s a small, budget-friendly hotel with a lovely ocean view. The curtains open automatically when you enter the room. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Complimentary coffee is available at the front desk, and there’s one washing machine and dryer you can use for 10,000 won each time. Restaurants are right below the building and all around the area, with two convenience stores just around the corner.

Being right by Haeundae Beach made it easy to go running, and the entrance was simple to find. I loved hearing the waves and watching the sea at sunrise and sunset. The room felt comfortable to me, especially compared with places in Seoul. There’s a clear divide between the bed and the table, with a sofa behind it. Two big suitcases won’t both open at once, but I didn’t find that necessary. The toilet was great, too. Breakfast is basic, but there’s toast and eggs to make yourself, plus bananas, juice, milk, and yogurt. Travelers can also get bottled water, tea, and coffee any time of day. I’d give the place six stars if I could. It’s made me miss Busan so much that I’ve already booked another trip to Korea.
