Billz Hotel Dongdaemoon

I checked in late at night because my flight arrived late and the listing said self check-in. I didn't think finding a room would be a big deal, and I wasn't worried about the money. But after midnight, they charge an extra 10,000 won per hour. The moment I opened the door, the smoke smell was so awful I nearly fainted. I've been to Korea twenty or thirty times and never had an experience this bad. There was secondhand smoke everywhere. I didn't know smoking was allowed in Korean hotels. I aired the room out for a long time, but the stink stayed, so I started looking for somewhere else to go. I stayed for two days, and since it was quite late that night, I decided to leave the next morning. Losing a day's payment didn't matter. I couldn't bring myself to shower or even take my clothes off that day. The room smelled unbearable, and the toilet was so dirty I was afraid to use it. I couldn't find the air conditioner remote to clear the smoke, and it wasn't in the room. It was extremely difficult, almost impossible, to contact customer service. This felt like a very dirty motel, like a hotel where there might be pinholes. Avoid this place!

I'm Brazilian and loved my stay at Billz. It was easy and convenient, and the rooms were clean and organized. The elevator, hot water and Wi-Fi all worked really well. Public transport is right in front of the hotel, and it's very easy to get around. I recommend it.

Billz Dongdaemun Hotel gets 10/10 from me. The room had lots of amenities, including toiletries, an air purifier, a PC and a TV with Netflix. I first thought the air conditioner remote was missing, then realized the controls are built into the TV remote, which was convenient. There were lots of couples staying there, but the room was very quiet. I felt safe with a fire extinguisher and emergency escape rope provided.

I chose this place because I needed to catch the first train from Cheongnyangni Station. It was quiet and had plenty of amenities, with lots of shops nearby. A good place to stay.
