Hotel Senne

The reception staff were warm and polite, and there are plenty of restaurants and marts nearby, along with bus and subway stations, so getting around was convenient. It’s a nice hotel with a cute design and everything we needed in the room. The price felt acceptable since we booked in advance.

You get what you pay for here. Even in winter the room got a bit stuffy, and the AC didn’t work, so we had to open the window. There was construction outside during our trip, with the same loud banging every morning through the afternoon. I’ve paid almost three times as much at other hotels and still found things I didn’t like, so I’d consider coming back to Senne. At least I know what I’m paying for.

The staff made the stay, especially the owner or manager, who was friendly and knew a lot. Everyone was so kind. Whenever I needed baby food warmed up, they took it and brought it back to the door. The bank next door has English-speaking staff for currency exchange at pretty good rates. Bring your passport and money. We booked a Double Queen at the last minute, hoping it would fit our family, and it did. We stayed three nights. The bed was comfortable, the sheets were neatly ironed, and the pillows were medium, neither hard nor soft. I expected the tile floor to have a black stain, so I wiped it, but it was already really clean. The interior looked great and felt up to the standard of this advanced city, with nice lighting too. The bathroom was cool. The rain shower, handheld shower, and bath tap all had strong water pressure, enough to wash off the soap. The toilet had around 20 buttons for bidet, air, massage, rhythm, and settings, with controls on both the wall and toilet. Even the elevator had some sort of air quality control system. From the eighth floor, you can take the stairs up to a little garden and smoking area, with a nice view of the massive church. Food, convenience stores, and the subway are all around the hotel, and the subway is about a two-minute walk away. EDIYA COFFEE 'LAB' is a six-minute walk. Just go there. Go. There.

My room smelled of smoke, even though it was supposed to be non-smoking, and the room was unclean. The bed was uncomfortable as well. Staff were extremely unhelpful. They couldn’t give me the Wi-Fi password, and at checkout they refused to call a taxi. I asked if they could show me how to call one or give me a taxi phone number, but they said no to that too. A terrible experience. Please stay somewhere else.
