I've stayed here twice, first in 2023 and again in 2026, and I'm grateful each time I come. The location is a 10/10. Near the hostel there's a park crossing two streets lined with bars and shops, nice for the afternoon and early evening. Some bars stay open all night, and you can wander around peacefully, stopping for a drink or coffee when you feel like it. It reminded me of a Catalan "passeig" or French "promenade". The hostel is easy to find on maps, which I appreciated after finding hotels and hostels in Seoul so hard to locate. Reception isn't open 24 hours, and, like other hostels, it closes at 4pm, so you need to self check in. Still, if you arrive late or get lost, there's a good chance someone will help. The people are caring and used to foreign guests. You don't feel abandoned here. Helpful, friendly staff, a clear location, and people who work for people. 100% recommend it.

The location is great, not far from Hongdae, and a good spot for backpackers and young people. The standard dorm room was clean and totally fine for my one-night stay. Remember to take your shoes off when you come in, Korean style!

What made the stay worthwhile was getting to know other travelers and hanging out with them. A lot of them shared my view of the place and its volunteers. The atmosphere felt odd, especially around the volunteers, and there were far too many rules that didn’t seem to make much sense.

The photos made this place look much cleaner and better cared for than it was. I wanted to leave early, but the staff said I’d still have to pay for the whole trip. I’m paying for another place so I can get out of here. I wouldn’t stay here.

The streets around it were lovely and quiet, and the shared space was great. Staff were incredibly kind. I was in a mixed dorm; the beds were only somewhat comfortable, and the cleanliness didn’t meet my standards. That’s okay, but shared spaces like this just aren’t my favorite. It’s also a bit of a walk to transit, around 15-20 minutes to bus stops and train stations.
