It’s a lovely way to experience a traditional Hanok. The host was kind and helpful, and gave us some great ideas for exploring the city.

Tongin Market was nearby, and there was also a small convenience store close by. The bus stop right outside made getting around easy, and Gyeongbokgung Palace was only a 10-minute walk away. My child and I spent four nights and five days here on my first trip to Korea. I felt a bit nervous beforehand, but the kind staff helped me feel at ease, and I was really happy with our stay. Thank you. The central garden was beautiful, and the hanok was lovely. There were three rooms, and though other guests were staying there, they were all women during our visit, which made it comfortable. There was a water dispenser, so we didn’t need to buy water, and it was nice to help ourselves to coffee and tea. The guesthouse is run by a very kind couple who showed us some recommended nearby shops and took us to a sauna. The wife spoke a little Japanese, so we managed to communicate with a mix of English and Japanese. The toilet had flushable toilet paper, which was a nice touch since many places in Korea don’t let you flush it. The shower was a bit small, but with a public bath nearby, it wasn’t much of a problem.

The bus stop is right in front of Nuha, so getting around was convenient. I wanted to try staying in a hanok and found this place at a reasonable price. I did worry a little after seeing a two-star rating on another site, but a very nice couple welcomed us when we arrived. They asked where we wanted to go, how we planned to get there, and what we wanted to eat, then suggested tasty, affordable restaurants. The wife even walked us to some nearby places to eat. They also gave us good sightseeing suggestions, and Tongin Market is close by. Our room was clean. I was concerned about sharing the toilets, but they were spotless, had toilet paper, and could be flushed. There are three showers, and although that’s all there is onsite, there’s a nearby public bath, or jjimjilbang. They recommended one, and I went three times during our four-night stay. I’d definitely come back!

I’d like to stay in a Hanok at least once, though the price feels a bit steep for me.
