Boutique hotel k Dongdaemun

The rooms and toilet were old and dirty, and everything in the room seemed really worn out. Service was absolutely disgusting. The staff were appalling and aggressive toward me as a foreigner.

The counter staff were rude and no help when we checked in. Before that, I'd made a booking mistake and put my own name on the room instead of my mother's. All I asked was for a simple name change, but the hotel refused, and they turned down our booking agent too. We were left $100 out of pocket and had to find my mother somewhere else to stay. Clearly, to these people, that $100 mattered more than giving their guests a place to stay. If this is the kind of place Korea gives awards for great service, I'd hate to see what the places without awards are like. I can't recommend strongly enough that you find somewhere else.

I paid for five nights, but after just one night I checked out and moved to another hotel. Room 502 felt like a spooky place, with an old castle look and very little light. The corridor was too dark as well. They offered free canned juice and water, and there was hair spray, but no toiletries, soap, or shampoo, so you'd have to buy those. Traveloka lists it as a three-star hotel, but there were no facilities. Not recommended.

The staff were really nice and helpful, and we didn't hear the neighbors or have any other inconvenience. The odd issue was a lot of mosquitos. This was our third Korean hotel lately, and it was really weird to have flies over here. Our suite worked nicely for three people, with very cozy beds and pillows. The building is easy to spot because it's lit up. On the first floor there's free drinks, a coffee machine, and a very nice, well-stocked 7/11. The room had a PC, fridge, shower, huge bathtub, shower supplies, hair brushes, and bathrobes. The bathroom and toilet could use a big cleaning, though it wasn't awful. Dapsimni metro is about a ten-minute walk, but it has no escalator, so hauling luggage up around a hundred stairs was really hard.
