Hotel Kuretakeso Insadong

The hot spring, laundry room, and daily free welcome drinks and snacks all made this a great stay. The location also worked well, with good public transport access and tourist spots within walking distance. I stayed four nights in February and would definitely come back and recommend the hotel to other travellers.

The location is excellent, an easy walk from a major metro station, and Insadong has so many dining options. We usually saved our appetite for eating around Seoul rather than the breakfast buffet, though it’s worth trying once. The room is small but efficient, the bed is firm, and the clean spa is relaxing. There are free drinks each day, ice cream, and ramen at night. The free washer was a real bonus, though the dryer costs KRW2000. We stayed at a Dormy Inn in Kyoto last year, so we knew what to expect, and Dormy Inn Express Insadong met the same high standard and had the features we expected. Tip: get an extra pillow from the lobby.

There’s free ramen every day and a sauna you can use all day. The hotel is clean and well located, and the small room was comfortable. The bed and pillow are quite hard.

The public bath is very nice, and both the location and staff are fantastic. Just be aware that some people use it without basic manners and leave it dirty. Please wash yourself before getting into the tub!
