Glad Mapo

I had a pleasant stay, though breakfast could definitely be better. The rooms were clean and nice, just a bit small. I paid for late checkout and got until 1:00 PM. I know it's subject to availability, but that cutoff felt restrictive for a paid option.

Spring was the one slight drawback: there's no air conditioning then, so you have to count on the small window for a breeze, and nights can feel a bit stuffy. Even so, I was comfortable and enjoyed my stay. The area is calmer and away from tourist crowds, with plenty of eateries and cafes nearby. The 7-11 in the lobby is handy for snacks and basics. Glad Mapo is modern and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and being right above Gongdeok Station makes getting around Seoul extremely easy. I'd recommend it.

I spent seven nights here and felt safe and comfortable. The room was cleaned every day, and the location worked very well, right beside a major subway station even though it's outside the city center. Street noise was the only issue. Even from the 21st floor, car horns came through because the windows aren't double-paned, and it disturbed my sleep a bit.

The staff are all friendly, and the room air conditioning works VERY well. They leave water bottles in the mini fridge every day, which is great when you're walking 12,000+ steps. We've been at Glad Mapo for a week and love how close it is to a major subway line and everything you need, while still being quiet and not chaotic. The lobby 7-11 is perfect for a morning banana coffee fix or a late ramen run. There's an ice machine and microwave around the corner in the lobby's “feeding room.” If the standard pillow feels too soft, ask for a memory foam one. That switch saved my sleep and neck. I'll definitely stay here again.
