Golden City Hotel Dongdaemun

There was barely room for luggage because the room was so small. It was a bit dirty and VERY SMELLY. They sprayed some air freshener and said every room was full, so nothing could be done.

I couldn't feel comfortable touching things in the room. There was dust on every surface, stains on the sheets, and the bathroom looked as if it hadn't been properly cleaned in weeks. When I asked politely for fresh towels because the ones there were stained, the receptionist rolled their eyes as if I were a nuisance. Staff were unhelpful and rude when I asked for basic help. Nobody apologized or tried to fix anything, and the whole place felt careless and unwelcoming. I strongly don't recommend staying here. Nearby places at the same price or even less can offer cleanliness and basic courtesy.

There's a convenience store, café, fried chicken, and Korean noodles nearby. Breakfast is on B1, and the WiFi worked well.

The room takes a little getting used to, and could be better, but it was fairly spacious, which helped with all my stuff. The bed was comfy. Breakfast was lacking. The area is handy, though, with convenience stores beside and across from the hotel and a tasty kimbap place across the road. Front desk staff were helpful and accommodating when we needed directions to myeongdeong, which made the stay better.
