Grand Hyatt Seoul

We prefer the Grand Hyatt to the Park, even though the Park has the more stylish rooms. My husband is a lifetime globalist, and we do like the river view at the Grand. The gym, pool, and especially the club spa and sauna, shared with local members, are a nice bonus. Everyone we encountered, from bell staff and reception to housekeeping and dining, was efficient, attentive, and kind. A big thank you to Wendy Kim at the concierge, who went out of her way to find the hairbrush I’d been trying so hard to get. I really appreciated it.

The staff’s sincere kindness is what keeps bringing me back to Grand Hyatt Seoul. I’ve stayed many times, including at other five-star hotels in Gangnam for convenience, but their warm, genuine hospitality has felt different, without any pretension. The rooms and facilities are spotless and well cared for. Ash at the front desk explained the facilities in such detail that it made my stay better. Mrs. Jung at the Deli/Cafe carefully explained how to store my pastries and wrapped them beautifully. They became lovely gifts for my friends in Seoul, and they absolutely LOVED them! I also enjoyed the Namsan walking trail the staff recommended. It was a wonderful way to get some healthy, refreshing rest. Breakfast was good, although I missed the previous seating with the better view. I was a little surprised they said the window seats were full when I could see some vacant ones. I hope the team double-checks availability next time. I’m sharing a few photos of the room views and the trail connected to the hotel.

The lobby was grand and luxurious, and breakfast was decent. My room faced namsan tower, which looked lovely with the sunset behind it. The in-room water dispenser was a real plus, especially for instant noodles late at night. The bathroom felt sooo cramped, and the huge wall painting didn’t make the room look any longer, even if that was the idea. The design also feels dated and could use some freshening up. Balmain amenities were the only console.

I keep returning to Grand Hyatt Seoul, and the peaceful location is a big part of why. You can enjoy Seoul and still come back to a calm retreat. The rooms are comfortable, well maintained, and have beautiful views. After a full day in the city, I love relaxing at the pool and spa. I also order room service most of the time, especially breakfast. The food is reliably delicious and arrives well prepared. The staff are consistently warm, professional, and attentive, and every visit feels memorable. 🥂
