Hamory Guesthouse

My room was very clean and comfortable, and the couple who run the guesthouse were so sweet and helpful. They replied promptly to messages and helped arrange taxis, which can be hard in Seoul if you don’t know Korean because taxis can only pick up passengers in certain neighborhoods, so you can’t always flag one down. The location is incredibly convenient, right by three main subway lines and a bus terminal, plus a night market with food and drinks just steps away. When I’m back in Seoul, I’ll stay here again.

The hosts were very kind, and the room was relatively inexpensive for Seoul. It was okay overall, but the bathroom was pretty bad. It’s a toilet and shower combo, and if you don’t set the faucet properly, it sprays you. The towels were too small and weren’t changed every day. Breakfast could’ve been better.

Don’t trust the high Google ratings. I had a very bad experience. The hosts didn’t respect guests’ privacy: they entered rooms without asking and gave other guests the room lock password. They also spoke to guests very rudely, pounding on doors and shouting.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the host was very friendly and helpful. It’s very close to the subway station. A five-star guesthouse.
