Hostel J Stay Seoul Myeongdong

For the price, the service was amazing, and the location was great too, with a bus stop and subway station nearby. The outside looked a little questionable, but the hotel area itself was totally fine. My room was clean, and the staff were really helpful.

The room looked nothing like the online photos. It was old, stuffy, and smelled terrible, with almost no air circulation. If you have asthma, I wouldn’t consider staying here because the room could seriously disrupt your trip. I’d booked five days and four nights but left after only half a day. There was no compensation, even though one of us had to go to the hospital the next day because of the room’s poor condition. You’d be better off paying a little more for somewhere more comfortable.

It was worth what we paid. The staff were very helpful, and daily essentials were self-service. The location was fantastic, just a few minutes from the subway and bus, right by the lively local markets in Meongdong, and convenient for getting around Seoul.

My stay was nice, and I’d come back. It’s easy to reach by bus or subway, and guests can help themselves to things like water bottles, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. There’s laundry, plus a pantry for heating food and making coffee or tea 😌
