Hostel Vanilla 2 Dongdaemun

The location is fantastic, less than five minutes from Dongmyo station, in Dongdaemun and convenient for getting around. There are plenty of places to eat nearby too. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the place was clean and comfortable. I really appreciated being able to use the washer and dryer. I’ll definitely stay again when I’m back in Korea.

I arrived in Seoul earlier than expected as a solo traveler, so I emailed about checking in early. The host replied very quickly and said my room was ready, so I was able to check in around 2:00 PM. Park Munhee was really nice and carried my big, heavy luggage up to the second floor, and helped again on checkout day. The room was clean, homey, and had all the amenities, including a private bathroom. There were free noodle cups, snacks, drinking water, and coffee. It’s a five-minute walk to Dongmyo station on line 6 and seven minutes to the Airport bus stop at Dongdaemun/Dongmyo, which was very convenient. I’d really recommend this place for solo travelers. Great value.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the hostel is easy to find. From dongmyo station exit 2, turn right and it’s about a 3-4 minute walk. The staff were friendly and helpful. There’s a dining room and shared kitchen, plus a washing machine, snacks, and noodles. Great value, and a satisfying stay. If you need an early check-in, let them know ahead of time and they’ll help.

I spent ten days at Hostel Vanilla on holiday, and the cozy room felt like home for the price, even with a few minor issues from the thin walls. It was my first trip to Korea, but the staff’s kind, patient directions made the place easy to find. They also helped me plan my trip and little excursions, and were accommodating the whole time. I’d come back to Hostel Vanilla without hesitation if I return to Korea.
