HOTEL JAK Insadong by Anook

The rooms are on the small side, which seems pretty typical for Seoul, but they worked fine for us. The location is handy for cultural spots, and the train station is only a few minutes away on foot. Free ramen, coffee, and water were a nice bonus, and everything felt clean and new. Check-in can be a little tricky for foreigners, but there's a help button and someone is always there to assist, so it wasn't a big issue. We liked it enough to add another night. I'd stay here again next time I'm in Seoul.

The hanok-style building and wooden maru made a lovely backdrop for photos. I felt safe traveling solo, and the room was clean, modern, and well kept. Hotel Jak Insadong by AANK sits right in the Insadong neighborhood, which made it a great choice for an authentic Korean experience. Anguk Subway Station is nearby, and Bukchon Hanok Village and plenty of other attractions are within walking distance. I'd recommend it!

We picked this hotel for its central location and because we didn't need the usual extras like breakfast. The rooms are small, which suited us fine since we spent the days exploring and just needed a place to sleep. Palaces, Myendong, and other cultural activities are within walking distance, and the bus and train stations are close by. Just know before booking that this is a self-management hotel. Check-in is automated at a kiosk using your passport, with no reception and no breakfast, but it has plenty of character. The owner is a very kind, friendly lady, and we became good friends during our stay. We were happy with our choice for all 12 days.
