Lumia Hotel Myeongdong

The rooms were big and clean, and the hotel is conveniently close to hohyeon starion. Staff were nice, and check-in and checkout can be done at a touchscreen. I enjoyed the free coffee and buns in the lounge. Would recommend.

I liked the quiet, safe neighborhood, with the main streets just a two-minute walk away. Staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms were a decent size, the beds comfortable, and the large en suite had a good shower. Airport shuttle bus 6000 leaves you at Namdaemun Market, a two-minute walk from the hotel. Seoul Station and the airport train are about a 15-minute walk, and Myeongdong night market is a ten-minute walk. I booked three more nights for my return to Seoul, and would happily stay again. Highly recommend.

There’s no breakfast at the hotel, which was a pain because it was hard to find a proper one. Korean breakfasts aren’t like what I’m used to in Australia, Colombia, or similar countries. The hotel itself was well maintained, with spotless rooms and Wi-Fi, which matters if you haven’t bought a SIM at the airport. The location is excellent, with a train station around the corner and plenty of good restaurants nearby. Seoul tower is also about a ten-minute walk away.

The rooftop patio had a lovely view over the city and mountain. I picked this place for its walkable distance to Seoul Station and Myeongdong. The room was basic but fine, with a bed, nightstands, mini fridge, open closet, and bathroom. There wasn’t a desk or chair. It’s on a side street up a hill, so getting there is a bit of a workout. Fine for the price, but next time I’ll probably spend a little more on a hotel.
